FDR - Faber Daeufer & Rosenberg

Philanthropy

Individually and collectively, everyone in our firm is committed to finding ways to engage philanthropically with the communities in which we live and work.

Since its inception, FDR has donated 1% of its total revenues each year to innovative not-for-profit organizations that are addressing important social needs. For example, FDR is a leading contributor to the CAVU Foundation, a public charity with a mission of enabling targeted high-impact healthcare philanthropy by investing in organizations and programs that seek to address unmet medical needs of children.

For the past four years, FDR has been the lead sponsor of Bio-Ball, a unique basketball tournament and skills events that matches employees of Boston-area biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies with Special Olympics teams, with all proceeds supporting Special Olympics Massachusetts.

FDR has made multi-year substantial donations to The Center for Discovery in Harris, NY, which provides pediatric and adult rehabilitation and education programs for developmentally disabled individuals, to the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, to New England Funding a Cure, which benefits the MassBio/American Cancer Society Cancer Research Challenge, and to many other important organizations that are making a difference in our communities.

FDR also has matched contributions to not-for-profit organizations from each of its staff, dollar-for-dollar up to 2% of each individual’s total pre-tax cash compensation each year. These contributions have accelerated our employees’ own efforts to support educational, religious, artistic, social and civic organizations that are particularly important to them. FDR is implementing an additional program that matches time volunteered by each employee to a not-for-profit organization, governmental body or civic organization with cash contributions from the firm.

Further, FDR has organized days of service when the whole firm as a team has volunteered time for local social service agencies, including the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Additionally, FDR is evaluating ways to provide resources to any employee or group of employees who need more information about volunteer opportunities or support for engaging in these activities, and to make available educational programming that can help employees initiate or expand philanthropic activity individually and/or with their families.
